Not every folk rock band from North Carolina needs a banjo player, but for The Avett Brothers, made up of Scott Avett, Seth Avett and Bob Crawford, the banjo is an essential part of their honkey tonk sound. Compared to Buddy Holly, The Beatles and the Ramones by the San Francisco Chronicle, The Avett Brothers sound like a band destined for greatness.
