A step into Folsom Field in Boulder is a step into history. Since 1924, the Colorado Buffaloes have played their home games at this magnificent, intimate stadium with views of the Flatiron Mountains. With a raucous student section, awesome tradition and a location right smack dab in the middle of campus, you can’t miss a chance to see the Buffaloes roam at Folsom.
Big Time Buffalo Tradition
First taking the field in 1890, the Buffaloes enjoy one of the richest histories in all of college sports. Over 120 years of big-time football action, CU has played in 28 Bowl Games, sent scores of players to the NFL and hoisted their lone National Championship in 1990.
The Road Back to the Top
After a disappointing first couple of years in the Pac-12, the Colorado Buffaloes replaced head coach (and CU alum) Jon Embree with Mike MacIntyre. In his last head coaching job, MacIntyre was charged with turning around a San Jose State program that went 1-12 in 2010. Last season, MacIntyre led the Spartans to 10-2 record and a win in the Military Bowl over the Bowling Green Falcons.
Though the Colorado coaching staff will have a similarly difficult rebuilding campaign in Boulder, pundits believe that the Buffaloes have the right man for the job. Playing their conference games in the fast and powerful Pac-12, the Buffaloes should be able to attract blue chip prospects moving forward.
