When The Moody Blues first came over to the U.S. from jolly ole England, the British quintet came armed with the album Days Of Future Passed and the intoxicating ballad “Nights In White Satin.” Their timing was perfect because it was 1969, the Summer Of Love, and the song provided the kind of psychedelic ambience audiences had been waiting for. Orchestral-tinged instrumentation combined with Justin Hayward’s low and seductive voice made for a monster hit. The band continued to put out albums and develop a worldwide following.
Then, in 1986, lightning struck twice and The Moody Blues was able to reach an entire new (re: MTV) generation of fans with their synth-pop song, “Your Wildest Dreams,” which injected new life into the band and created a whole new chapter in their career. “Well, we're offered more work now than we ever were when we were younger,” Hayward said to HufingtonPost.com back in December 2013. “For me, personally, I'll still be playing up at the pub anyway, even if I'm not getting paid for it. As long as our health holds, we'll be just fine. There'll always be a gig for us.”
