It’s not every day you get the chance to be in the presence of a psychedelic rock legend, but that’s exactly when you get when you go see Bob Weir play live. The former Grateful Dead singer/guitarist has been carrying the tie-dyed torch ever since the group disbanded after Jerry Garcia passed away in 1995. First, he formed RatDog, in which Weir mostly performed covers of songs by Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry and more. Then came The Other Ones, featuring former Dead members Phil Lesh and Mickey Hart, in addition to frequent collaborator and keyboardist Bruce Hornsby. Finally, there’s Further, which Weir started in 2009 and named after the multi-colored bus used by novelist Ken Keasy during his infamous Acid Tests. More recently, Bob has gone back to playing with RatDog and will spend the summer of 2014 performing with The Chris Robinson Brotherhood. For fans craving more about Weir’s personal and musical history, stay tuned for the upcoming documentary The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip Of Bob Weir, which premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival. The movie was directed by the same guy who made God Bless Ozzy Osbourne, so you know it’s gonna be a great flick! ScoreBig lets you save on every Bob Weir ticket, every day.
