From the moment “Meet Virginia” hit the airwaves in 1998, Train became such an overnight success that many people didn’t think they’d be able to follow up the song with something equally as catchy. Boy, were they wrong. Not did the San Francisco pop-rock band achieve an even bigger smash with their the single, “Drops Of Jupiter (Tell Me)” off the band’s sophomore album of the same name, but they’ve managed to release hit after hit for the past 15 years. “Whatever we do, it's going to sound like Train because [singer] Pat [Monahan]’s just got that distinctive voice,” guitarist Jimmy Stafford told CBSNews.com in 2013. “It's not like we're going to go out in left field and do a country album or anything like that. We're still kind of a pop-rock band but we've also prided ourselves on being able to play many different styles. If you listen to ‘Hey, Soul Sister’ next to ‘Drops of Jupiter’ or ‘Meet Virginia,’ they're all very different from each other.” Train will put out their seventh studio album, Bulletproof Picasso, in September 2014 and much of the material was written while the band was on tour in support 2012’s California 37.
