Everyone knows the heartbreaking story of Shakespeare's most famous tragedy Romeo and Juliet -- but now this age-old tale of star-crossed lovers is coming to Costa Mesa in a visionary new form with Juliet and Romeo. Told from the perspective of Juliet, world-renowned choreographer Mats Ek takes the Bard's immortal work into the 21st century, featuring a composite score of Tchaikovsky works, motorized Segway scooters, and costumes that blend Renaissance chic with jeans, hoodies and metallic suits. Performed by the talented dancers of the Royal Swedish Ballet, Ek's interpretation is brimming with modern twists, and was the 2015 recipient of the Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production.
