The Plot
Imagine a fork in the road, a point in time where a decision must be made, one or the other. Imagine, now, if you can see the results of an intersection of those choices. If/Then follows protagonist Elizabeth, played by Idina Menzel, a New York City woman who is in the middle of attempting to rebuild her life. Watch in awe as Elizabeth lives, simultaneously, two separate lives.
The Cast
Tony Award Winner Idina Menzel takes the lead role as Elizabeth. Menzel’s much anticipated return to Broadway comes after her Tony win for her performance as Elphaba in Wicked. Menzel is more famously remembered as Maureen in Broadway legend Rent. Another Rent Alumni, Anthony Rapp who played Mark Cohen in the aforementioned production, fills the role of Lucas. LaChanze, another Tony Award Winner, rounds out the cast as Kate.
The Venue
If/Then is now playing on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, located at 226 West 46th Street. The venue seats 1,319 patrons per show and is prominently located between Broadway and 8th Avenue in New York City. Richard Rodgers Theatre opened its doors way back in 1928, when it was originally known as Chanin’s 46th Street Theatre.
