Hubbard Street Dance Chicago Summer Series unveils a world premiere by resident choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo in the same program as two company classics: internationally known choreographer William Forsythe's Quintett and Nacho Duato's Mediterranean-influenced Gnawa. Forsythe's Quintett picks up on themes of loss, hope, fear and joy heard in Gavin Bryars' 1971 composition, Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet, while Gnawa's evocative rhythms tap the Mediterranean spirit of North Africa and Duato's native Spain, with costumes by Modesto Lomba, chairman of the Spanish Fashion Designers' Association.
In addition to Gnawa and the World Premiere by Alejandro Cerrudo, the June 6 performance includes Falling Angels and PACOPEPEPLUTO in replacement of Quintett.
