Blues legend Dr. John & the Nite Trippers, The Allen Toussaint Band, Galactic and special guest vocalists Irma Thomas and Cyril Neville are set to shake loose some of the prime Cajun-flavored R&B funk produced by the late, great Toussaint, one of the most influential singer-songwriter-musicians ever to come out of New Orleans. Famed for writing hits like "Working in the Coal Mine," "Southern Nights," "Get Out of My Life, Woman" and many more, Blues and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Toussaint passed in late 2015, but this sure-to-be-joyful salute should bring a bit of his down-home bayou sound back to the Hollywood Bowl.
