The movie Frozen was based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen, it makes total sense that Disney’s latest big-screen blockbuster would make its way into ice rinks across the world. After all, it’s the perfect temperature for Elsa to work her frosty magic, right? With Disney On Ice: Frozen, fans can take a trip to Arendelle without ever leaving their town and watch Elsa and her sister Anna—plus friends Olaf (the snowman), Kristoff (the iceman) and Sven (Kristoff’s trusty reindeer pal)—journey through the wintery world in search of true love. Mickey and Minnie Mouse host the performance, with guest appearances from a few more of your favorite Disney characters and princesses.
According to an interview with The New York Times, producer Nicole Feld said the show is a live event that “will make kids and their parents feel like they are actually trekking up those mountains and experiencing the storm inside Elsa.” Expectations are high for the icy adaptation and they have no intention to disappoint fans. The production will feature 39 performers and nine-tractor trailers that’ll travel from city to city, providing full-scale blizzards and video-projection panels that are guaranteed to awe and amaze. “Frozen, with its Broadway-style score and modernized princess story (no prince saves this day), has become a once-in-a-generation juggernaut,” writer Brooks Barnes said in the same NYT piece. In other words, get those pipes warmed up because there’s sure to be a “Let It Go” sing-along on the North Mountains horizon. ScoreBig gets you there. You’ll save on every ticket, every day.
