Famed for her distinctive contralto vocals -- not to mention a string of pop hits in the '70s -- Karen Carpenter and her composer-pianist brother Richard scored more than a dozen Top 10 singles and three Grammy Awards, before Karen's life was cut tragically short by anorexia in 1983. But now you can experience her signature soft-rock sound live on stage at this tribute concert written by and starring entertainer Lisa Rock and her six-piece backing band, at Waukegan's Genesee Theatre. You'll groove to some of the Carpenters' legendary hits, which include their first No. 1, "Close to You," along with "We've Only Just Begun," "Rainy Days and Mondays," "Sing" and many, many more.
