American Ballet Theatre’s Whipped Cream — World Premiere
Back to Results
In the spirit of The Nutcracker, American Ballet Theatre's Whipped Cream is a delightfully whimsical celebration of dance from one of the world's top companies. Set to a score by Richard Strauss, and adapted from his ballet Schlagobers, Whipped Cream features sets and costumes by "the godfather of pop surrealism," Mark Ryden, and choreography by ABT artist in residence and MacArthur Fellow Alexei Ratmansky. This full-length world premiere centers on a young boy who has a bit too many sweets in a Viennese pastry shop and becomes delirious, imagining an adventure with Princess Praline, Prince Coffee and marching Marzipan. This enchanting ballet will thrill audiences of all ages at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Orange County.
