Enjoy an hour long cruise around Manhattan before docking at Pier 83 for an irresistibly soulful and energetic concert by saxophonist and funk legend Maceo Parker. Parker was one of the pioneers of funk, joining James Brown's band in 1964 and remaining one of the Godfather of Soul's most prominent band members until 1970. After a few years as a bandleader, he joined up with George Clinton in Parliament-Funkadelic, and his irresistibly funky playing can be heard on some of the band's biggest hits. He also joined Bootsy Collins in Bootsy's Rubber Band, and played alongside his fellow funk legends Fred Wesley and Bernie Worrell on their '70s solo albums. Parker launched a full-time solo career in 1989, and ever since he's been recording albums and playing some of the hottest live shows on the planet.
