Though she’s only 32, it’s hard to remember a time when Queen Bey didn’t preside over the pop music scene. From her early days in Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé has always stood out as a bonafide superstar. Not only can Mrs. Carter sing, dance and act, but she also invents words. (In 2012, Merriam-Webster added “bootilicious,” defined as “sexy” or “sexy,” to the dictionary.) How many people can say the same? “I am finally at the stage in my life where I am not so concerned with other people's opinions about my life decisions,” Beyoncé told Harper’s Bazaar in a 2011 interview. “It is so liberating to really know what I want, what truly makes me happy, what I will not tolerate. When I was younger I had a hard time setting boundaries.”
Beyoncé’s super-human abilities come as no surprise, though, because she’s been producing bionic hits continuously for the last 15 years. Destiny’s Child made her a pop star, but Beyoncé entered a whole other stratosphere of celebrity once she struck out on her own and started releasing solo records like 2003’s Dangerous In Love, 2006’s B-Day and 2008’s I Am… Sasha Fierce. Then, just when you think she’s push her musical talents as far as they can go, she shatters the mold into a thousand pieces. In 2014, the “Single Ladies” singer released her self-titled fifth album, which she described as a visual album by each song having it’s own audio/visual element.
Highlights include “Partition,” “XO” and “Drunk In Love,” featuring her husband, Jay-Z. ScoreBig lets you save on every Beyoncé ticket, every day.
